Maybe it’s just the filipino in me but America’s Best Dance Crew has a solid spot in my DVR line-up, anybody else watching? For me it’s real cool to watch dance crew’s again. One of my favorite things at early carshows (besides the cars) were the dance crews. Back when shows also provided a home for dance competitions. Anyone remember an award for Dance Crew Showoff? Chain Reaction, KabaModern, Kandee Girl, Jedi Clan/Mind Tricks all provide a good entertainment while waiting for the judges to get around to our cars.
Speaking form a norcal standpoint, i believe when the dance crews and entertainers (i.e. m:g, pinay, dnh, yadda yadda…) left, it killed events like san jose’s street jam or fiesta filipina where they were the main attraction.
With the popularity of crews growing again, maybe we’re about to see a second coming…

Yo, thanks for bringing these crews back mang. I haven’t seen late 90′ and 00’s crews for along time since AEcreative.com started filming DVD from dance showcases. Respect.

Oh man.. high school flashback. Can’t say the show was representative of Kaba Modern though. It was more like “Kalbi” Modern… They were much better around 01 or 02. Now they’re not even Filipino………
Do you have the bay area dj’s CD’s that were made back in the late 90’s? “408″ with Prodigy, Raw, 3Style.

CD’s? I have mix tapes man! Funny you ask, I picked up a big box of tapes/CDs from my parents house. I’ll have to dig through and see the inventory. One I did find was Ajax’s Freestyle Trax Vol1 (The purple tape). This thing got so much play in my 240’s eclipse tape deck….
